Spring Decor Ideas
After the dark, dreary winter is finally over, the first thing that most people probably want to do is to let in as much light as possible. However, it is not always possible to do a complete redecorating job, due to time or budget constraints.
There is, however, a way in which subtle changes can be made to a room that will produce almost the same effects as those that would be achieved with total redecorating. That way is by purchasing wall art and canvas pieces.
One sure way of making a room look lighter is by hanging artwork that reflects the colors of spring and summer.
This may mean that existing artwork, especially if it has an autumn or winter theme or tone, has to be removed, at least temporarily, and stored until cooler weather occurs. Or, if it storing the artwork is not feasible, perhaps those pictures can be moved to another part of the room, so that the spring/summer pieces can be displayed more prominently. If care is taken to purchase artwork that is approximately the same size as the pieces being shifted around, there should be no problem.
When choosing pieces, pay close attention to the frames. These should also be of a lighter color and/or material. Some pieces may even do well unframed, as the absence of a “border” will impart a more roomier feel.
Contrary to popular opinion, artwork does not have to be, nor is it always, expensive. Many places offering art for sale often have very moderately priced prints and paintings in a variety of styles and subjects. These are high-quality pieces, too, not cast-offs or second-choice art works.
A little judicious shopping and price comparing will quickly reveal that price will no longer be the issue it was once considered to be. From there, it is only a matter of choosing those paintings which serve to add a lighter tone to a room.
