Hot Style On A Budget
The average homeowner usually cannot afford to spend a large amount of money to redecorate an entire house. And, the idea of doing it one room at a time is simply not an option one wishes to pursue. This does not mean that the occupants are resigned to continuing to live in a home in which the decor has not been updated in quite a while. It is simply a matter of deciding what needs to be done, comparing prices, and determining the best options.
One may discover, upon taking a good, hard look at the existing decor that the problem does not necessarily lie with the furnishings and accessories themselves, but rather what, if anything, if currently hanging on the walls. While artwork styles do not change as rapidly as, say, clothing or hair styles, there are still instances when the wall hangings and canvas pieces (or lack thereof) give the home a dated look.
Remember that wall art does not necessarily mean just pictures. Candle holders (sometimes called sconces), small shelves, which usually are too little or too fragile to really hold anything, or cloth artwork such as tapestries can also be considered wall art. And, unfortunately, it is pieces such as those mentioned above that can diminish or deter a rooms appeal.
Often, simply removing a few pieces will be all that is necessary to immediately change the feel of a room. If, however, after doing so, one decides that SOMETHING must occupy the now-empty space, then this is where new wall art and canvas pieces may be just what are needed. New does not have to mean never used. By keeping that thought in mind, one may find that places that would have otherwise not have been considered as a place for procuring new artwork are now exactly where one needs to look. This in itself can be considered an adventure. And once that mindset takes over, the redecorating possibilities, even with a tight budget, are practically endless.
